Assalam Alaykum (Peace be upon you)!
Some of you may know, some of you may not; I recently got married over the summer, back in June (alhamdulillah, praise be to God). Wedding prep has definitely kept me busy, especially since I decided to take on the challenge of creating two all white dessert tablescapes for my wedding day.
Thankfully, I had the help of my cousins and friends; things get done so quickly when you have amazing people around you to help out, laugh with, and joke around with.
We began prep a few days before the big day, taking on one dessert item at a time.
On the menu: chocolate cake pops, white chocolate dipped dates, cheesecake bites, white cupcakes, coconut truffles, and a few Pakistani desserts.
The day of the wedding, I left everything in the hands of my amazing mom who made sure things were set up properly.
The center of attention, by far, was the huge 200-cupcake tower with the mini cake centerpiece. The silhouettes were cut from thick cardstock by hand (takes a lot of patience, but worth it!).
Each cupcake had one or two gumpaste flowers, white whipped cream, and lace wrappers.
From what I heard (since being a bride kept me from enjoying the table for too long), the desserts were a huge success.
From what I learned, it’s never too early to start prepping. Also, the tiny details count the most! Using baby breath flowers in the backround, small chalkboard signs, and keeping everything a uniform color are some examples of tiny details that make a HUGE difference!
Special thanks to my wedding photographer KC, my dessert photographer and amazing cousin Saba, and all the rest of the friends/cousins who assisted.
